Santana pitched well allowing only 1 earned run. K-Rod came in in the 9th and got the save. Mets win 3 -2
The Mets win this game series against The St. Louis Cardinals and are only 1 game out of 1st place They start another game series against The NY Yankees this weekend. Mike Pelfrey (5-2) gets the start Friday night.

K-Rod had a bad night and it cost The Mets a win and the game series against The Baltimore Orioles.
The Mets are only 3 games back from The Phillies. Considering everything they have went through so far this season, being only 3 games out of 1st place is not bad.
NY Mets need another good start from Nieve (who did very well against The Yankees in his last start) this Friday night as The Mets face The Tampa Bay Rays

Gary Sheffield steals 2nd base and advances to 3rd on wild throw. Santos comes up big with RBI single bringing Sheffield home to win the game in the 11th. Pelfrey pitched a great game and the bullpen was awesome. Mets win 2 to 1.

The Mets already won the game series and with Johan Santana on the mound (one of the best pitchers in MLB) pitching against The Washington Nationals (one of the worst teams in MLB) the sweep was likely.
Mets are in first place in the east with 26 wins and 20 losses
