Playing 500 ball

May 29, 2010

The 2010 season for The New York Mets so far has been streaky.

Mets are now a game above .500 after last night’s loss to The Brewers ( 1st of 3 game series). Mets lose against The Brewers after sweeping The Phillies shutting them out 3 games and just before that winning 2 out of 3 against The Yankees.

If The Mets don’t win this game series against The Brewers ( team playing .417 ball ) it will make fans wonder what direction The Mets will take.

Tough Times for The New York Mets

July 1, 2009

After getting swept by The Yankees over the weekend, The Mets get hammered by The Milwaukee Brewers.  Really tough times for The Mets as they are now a game under 500.

If some of the regular players remain on the disabled list too long The Mets season will most likely remain pretty grim.

Tough night for K-Rod as Mets lose game series against The Orioles

June 19, 2009

K-Rod had a bad night and it cost The Mets a win and the game series against The Baltimore Orioles.

The Mets are only 3 games back from The Phillies. Considering everything they have went through so far this season, being only 3 games out of 1st place is not bad.

NY Mets need another good start from Nieve (who did very well against The Yankees in his last start) this Friday night as The Mets face The Tampa Bay Rays

Tough Game Series against The Yankees

June 14, 2009

Tough game series against The NY Yankees as they finish it with their Ace Santana getting blown out 15 -0 .  The Mets started this game series with The Yankees Friday night with a game that was in the bag; A 9th inning infield popup from Arod but a horrible error from 2nd baseman Castillo cost them that game.   Trying to sweep that game under the carpet Mets got a nice outing from Fernando Nieve Saturday (pretty much the only bright spot from this series for The New York Mets) against The Yankees. Mets won 6-2

“I didn’t feel nervous,” Nieve said. “This is baseball. This is my job.”
Nieve certainly did more than expected helping to get the Mets at least one win from this game series.

The New York Mets are 4 games behind The Philadelphia Phillies

Interleague play continues:  The Mets face The Baltimore Orioles and they need another good start from Pelfrey (4-2)
